Never to old to Learn

Once you think you know it all, you better think again. There is a world of knowledge out there, and I have barely scratched the surface. I have just learned that when you have muscle spasms and pulled muscles, eat a lot of protein, it helps heal the body faster. You know all through our lives we hear our parents and teachers tell us to stand up straight, or sit up straight, don't slouch, hold your head up. The reason why you ask? Because of your neck and spine. We have a tendency to be lazy, and it will hurt us in the long run. These things we do will cause us to be hunch backed. It messes up our necks and our spines. Most people I find think it's a respect thing, look focused, attentive, but if you don't do it for those reasons, think about your health. Think about how you are gonna feel 20 years from now. I remember as a young person, I would lift heavy things, and people would tell me not to, I will hurt my back, well I was hard headed, and I said I would be fine, they said I'll regret it later, I said I'll deal with it when I cross that bridge. Guess what? I'm crossing that bridge now, and wish I would have listened.

I was watching Dr. Oz the other day, and he was talking about artificial sugars. The pink, blue, and yellow. I know we've found that it has cancerous ingredients, but it also tricks the body and will make you over eat. The pink is 300x sweeter than sugar, the blue is 200x sweeter, and the yellow is 600x sweeter. They also cause problems with diabetes and heart disease. The doctor said you would be better off putting 2 teaspoons of sugar in your coffee rather than an artificial sweetener. There is an artificial sweetener that is safe, it is called Stevia. It is an all natural sweetener with no calories. Where sugar is known to raise your blood pressure and blood sugar, stevia lowers it. As with sugar, use in moderation.

I've known this for a while, but many others do not. You can get migraine headaches from lack of water. You can get muscle spasms from lack of water. Lack of water also aids in heart disease, arthritis, and heartburn. At the very least we should be drinking 10 8oz glasses of water a day. Our blood consists of 90% water, and our bodies consists of 75% water. If you don't drink enough water, your blood will get thicker, it will make your heart pump harder, and it will be susceptible to clotting. Water is what transports nutrients to your body, and it flushes toxins out of your body. A body can live without food for days, but not without water.
