It's Hot! Hot! Hot!

I like it! I love the summer! I love swimming in the ocean. I know one thing for sure, we need to pray about the oil spill in the Gulf, because we really, and I mean really don't need the oil getting into the Atlantic Ocean. I also don't want them to drill off the east coast of Florida either. I've been finding out that not to many people know about the coral reef that sits about 3 miles off of our shore line. Do you know what that coral reef is doing for us? I was told that it breaks the waves for us. If it wasn't there, we would be getting waves as big as Hawaii. How long do you think Florida would last if we received waves like Hawaii? Not very long I'm afraid, we would be living much further north, and the Gulf and the Atlantic would merge. It's even possible that Central Florida would become ocean front property within 5 years, that's just my opinion in the matter. I think Daytona would be wiped out within a couple of years. So, I would like to keep this little town above the water for a long while, and I say no to drilling for oil.

Spring is in the Air

It's about time we get some warmer weather. I am over all these cold fronts coming through. I want to see trees with green leaves and pretty flowers. I would like to be able to lay out in the sun and get a tan, I'm fading quick. I want to hear the birds singing and the squirrels playing. To be surrounded by the sound of nature. Right now, all you hear are the sounds of thunder bikes going down the road. That's how you know spring is near in Daytona Beach. The Harley Davidson motorcycles come piling in by the thousands. They are definitely my favorite bike. I've taken pictures of many bike over the years, unfortunately digital cameras weren't invented then, and my scanner is on the fritz. What I do have to share are pictures of spring, flowers at their best.
