I Want To Be Healthy

This is a great machine, great concept to go along with it. Great way to get healthy, but one of the more expensive ways. Unfortunately, the juicer price wasn't the problem. The fact that you have to spend $150 in fruits and veggies for juice to last all week. Then I looked through the 6 week turn around plan, you would have to spend approximately $300 a week, and that's just for one person. Why is it so expensive to eat healthy? Is this another way the government wants to control us? By keeping us over weight and unhealthy? So I've been doing some research about being healthy and what things we need to do to get there. I have other articles on this site about probiotics. Come to find out that there are a lot of things that make us unhealthy that we thought were okay.

I am coming up with a plan to eat healthy without costing a whole lot more than what I already spend. Fresh fruits and vegetables are very important to your daily diet. So are things high in protein like chicken and fish.

3.

Even if all you eat is McDonald's, that is considered a fast food diet, a diet that can eventually kill you.
Although a lot of your fast food restaurants do have healthier ways to eat now, it really depends on us if we make the right choices. I really love Wendy's salads.  So, it is possible to eat healthy when you go out to restaurants. What you should stay away from is bread, sugar, artificial sweeteners, soda, pasta, and potatoes. I found out that sweet potatoes are good for you. I've also found an all natural sweetener that has 0 calories, doesn't cause tumors, and helps lower blood sugar called Stevia. Dr. Oz said it would be better to use regular sugar opposed to artificial sweetener. In which both are bad for diabetics. I also found out that the carbonation is soda expands the stomach and make you eat more.

When it comes to probiotics, it gets a little more difficult. Like everyone thinks that yogurt is the way to go, but if it is pasteurized,  all the good bacteria is dead, and it doesn't have the effect you are looking for.
The foods I just listed to stay away from, is what feeds the bad bacteria, and can cause a lot of health problems. There are probiotic foods like sauerkraut, buttermilk, some cereals, kefir (fermented milk), green olives and more. You can look at my other two articles about probiotics.

Kefir, keefir, or kephir (/kəˈfɪər/ kə-FEER),[1] alternatively Kewra, talai, mudu kekiya, milk kefir, or búlgaros, is a fermented milk drink made with kefir "grains" (a yeast/bacterial fermentation starter) and has its origins in the north Caucasus Mountains.[citation needed] It is prepared by inoculating cow, goat, or sheep milk with kefir grains. Traditional kefir was made in skin bags that were hung near a doorway; the bag would be knocked by anyone passing through the doorway to help keep the milk and kefir grains well mixed.[2]

So, I have been eating a lot of salads, but making different kinds so that I don't get bored with eating the same thing all the time. Sometimes I make me a chef salad, sometimes a grilled chicken salad, or one of my favorites, grapes and tuna salad. Here is my recipe for the grape/tuna salad.

I use an iceberg/romaine salad mix, and I add fresh spinach leaves to the mix. I cut up cucumber, cream cheese, and red/black seedless grapes.  I mix the tuna fish with mayo. I put ranch dressing on the salad, then put the tuna on top. It was one of the best salads I've ever had.

I've also been doing smoothies. I get the bags of frozen fruit, the Greek Cobat plain yogurt, about a half a cup of water, and some stevia. You can add some protein powder, and it becomes a meal. I found a great protein powder that only has 2 carbs and less than 1 gram of sugar and it's sweetened with stevia. This is the best protein powder I've ever had, it's called Gladiator, I found it at Smoothie King.

Well, in order to eat healthy without going overboard on your grocery bill, you need to get  fresh/frozen fruit, dark green fresh/frozen vegetables (stay away from corn and peas), stevia is a must if you are going to stay away from sugar, and lean meats (if you can't afford lean meats, make sure you drain the grease off), yogurt (mentioned above), sour cream is okay, half n half is better for your coffee and cooking (only 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram of carbs), get some probioticss (either by whole foods or by pills), and those snack bars like Fiber One helps between meals (helps keep you off the cake and candy), and oh yeah, water, need to drink mineral water and lots of it. The more you drink, the more you shrink.
